Doncaster Fencing Club has been awarded a grant by Sport England, from their Return to Play fund.
The Return to Play: Small Grants fund seeks to support projects addressing the challenges coronavirus (Covid-19) has posed to people taking part in sport and physical activity.
The fund will support activity under 4 main headings:
⦁ Minor facility alternations (such as changes required to adhere to published government guidance).
⦁ Service alterations (such as coronavirus-related adaptations, repairs and modifications, e.g. safety screening and contactless payment systems or volunteer training, e.g. health and safety requirements, risk assessments, etc.)
⦁ Operational alterations (such as signage/floor markings – maintaining social distance and avoiding congestion; cleaning/hygiene – keeping facilities and equipment clean; additional sports equipment/kit – minimising sharing.)
⦁ Running costs (considered from organisations delivering their activities in the most deprived communities – those located in areas of high deprivation (decile 1-3 of the Indices of Deprivation).
Doncaster Fencing Club made an application and were successful. As a small club this will make the world of difference to us.
